My district hired consults to help bring the district into compliance and raise student achievement. The consultants started after the school year began and conducted performance evaluations 10 days past the date given in the contract. The contract language gives three "recommended deadlines": 1) for mutually agreed upon goals 2) the second deadline is to discuss how the performance is going and determine if add'l resources are need to assit in achieving the goals. 3) last meeting is to provide data to support that the goals were achieved and to set new goals for the following year.

None of that occurred. Instead the inital goals were set 10 days past the recommended deadline, 2) they changed the goals 3 months laters as well as adding an additional person as my "immediate supervisor"...now I had 2 immediate supervisors; 3) continually (at least on 4 occassions) attempted to force to particiapate in the "evaluation."

In spite of providing them with a copy of the contract, and requesting permission to leave the 3rd meeting (and being told by the "evaluator", "No", you cannont leave); and requesting that HR investigage this matter... and I have yet to hear back from them (filed request in April of 2008), the employer continued and in June rated me Unsatisfactory, although I did not deserve that rating.

The consultant who was the instrumental in providing the evaluation, continually had made negetive remarks to me, from the day they started working in my district.

I feel that although the consultant is of the same race, that person has created a hostile work environment.

The employer went so far as to have a union person call me into a meeting (of which I took notes) and threated to fire me if I did not stop talking about the conditions of the department. Furthermore, the employer had the union person make disparging remarks to me (which I can't go into here); but do have noted.

The work environment has become very hostile in my regards.

Do I have a case?
