Currently I am a cook at a small restaurant. Most pay periods (bi-weekly)I was working about 70-75 hrs. In February I informed my boss that I was pregnant. It was then that she drastically reduced my hours to about 15 a week. This dramatically affected my life as i am the only one working so I got notes from doctors saying I could work my hours as usual. Her response to that was that my hours were not reduced because i was pregnant but because business was slow. Eventually I lost my house because I was no longer able to pay. I continued working and in the past two months she has hired three new cooks and has not only had me train them but also allowed them to work longer hours than me, she has even gone as far as telling them that i leave everyday after three hours of work by choice. There was no way she would let me work any more hours so I filed for and was given underemployment benifits through the unemployment agency. Since this occured almost two weeks ago my boss has changed my schedule everyday and given me more and more hours. My problem is she is leaving a bulk of work for me that she told me i wouldnt be performing when i was two months pregnant but now that i am seven months pregnant she seems to think i am more capable of them and that if i dont do them she will alert the ui agency that i am no longer capable of working. I am more than capable of working my usual duties on the shift i have had for 3 years but with her changing my shift the duties incvolved are different. I am at a loss as to what to do because at this stage in my pregnancy it is really impractical to go out looking for a new job.Is there any way to get her to return me to my normally scheduled shift or am i to work with a differing shift indefinitely.
