Hello,

My girlfriend worked for a restaurant for over one year. About five months ago she quit to work at another restaurant closer to her home. About three weeks ago she served her last day at the new restaurant because she thought she was moving. The old restaurant she worked at for over a year needed help over Father's Day weekend so she went back to work there and talked to the management about working again part time for the summer. They said okay however the restaurant suddenly closed without notice a few days later. Can she file unemployment from the restaurant that closed seeing that she didn't quit upon the 2nd term of employment?

Awaiting someone's earliest reply,

She can file an unemployment claim. It's not up to her to decide which employer takes the UI hit - that's for the state to determine.
