I have a relative who works in a department store. The store itself and the corporation refuse to do anything about the heat in the building. It's so bad that my relative has been developing heat rash and comes home physically ill and throwing up from the heat.
I realize that in a lot of cases, temperature isn't something that's 'protected' since people work in freezers or construction and in extreme temperatures. But, I was wondering if there is anything in Virginia law protecting my relative since she is working in an actual department store. And if not, anything that can be done to pressure this company into making conditions a bit more... well, standable?
