Here is a question I have. I have been working at my job for 18 months full time. Suppose I left my job for a 3 month contract. Would I be able to collect unemployment after the contract ends or what would be the stipulations on that etc ?
Thanks

Generally, if you quit your job, you won't get unemployment, so forget about your current employer picking up the tab when your contract job is done.
However, if you are an employee on this contract (not an independent contractor), then you may be able to qualify. End of contract will not not disqualify you from unemployment and the minor costs of UI have already been figured into the contract by the prospective employer.

It's a good question, though, and one that, of course, we can only make a guess on based on our experience.
But, to play devil's advocate, here's the problem I can see might arise. You quit a "permanent" job for one that you know is only going to last for three months. Why should the state pay for you to quit? Not immediately pay, of course, but three months down the line?
Just saying.
