I have had this job for about 5 months now. Today they said that everyone has to have uniforms by next week to continue working. The kicker is we have to provide them at our OWN cost. Is this legal?

On a side note they also do not offer uniforms in my size (tall sizes) which will require me to go to the supply company to buy them at a huge cost increase ($15 dollars per shirt vs. $38)

What exactly do the uniforms consist of?

Embroidered polo with the company logo, kaki slacks, belt with company logo, Hat with company logo.

OK. The slacks they don't have to pay for, since they would be regular street clothes and don't meet the criteria to be considered a "uniform". This is not true, though, for the logo-ed items.

Who is responsible to pay the cost of uniforms required by an employer?
If an employer requires a specific uniform to be worn as a condition of employment, the employer must furnish the uniform free of charge, but can require a refundable deposit on the uniform.
