My employer called today after leaving the office to tell me that a salaried employee was giving her two-week notice over the phone. My employer hung up on her and called me to ask if I knew about this (I had just received the written notice myself.) I told him I knew. I was instructed (in very foul language) to have the employee pack and leave immediately.
The employee was shocked and hurt, as I, the manager, had accepted her two-week notice and was now asking her to leave the building.
Is the salaried employee due any compensation beyond the 3 days worked beyond payday? Her contract requests a 30 day notice.
