I am being forced to report to a new work location. I am a non-exempt salary employee. Is there a limit as to how far my company can force me to commute? My job title will remain the same but my area of responsibility will change. There are other employees at this location qualified to take on the responsibilities. Thank you for your insight.

Short of an employment contract limiting how far you can be transferred, no. How far ARE we talking about?

Site to site is 51.7 miles

It is not illegal for your employer to transfer you 51 miles, or 510 miles. It is your choice whether to make the commute, move closer to your new location, or find a new job.
