Hello, i am new to this site so if I didn't post this correctly I am sorry.
I recently gave two weeks notice at a company that i had been working salaried non-exempt for. (That means I am paid for OT as I understand it) I was told by the human resources manager there that if I were to work the first day of the pay period and then quit, or get fired, my company would be responsible for paying the remaining days in the period. When I gave my two weeks, my last day landed on a Thursday, leaving Friday in the pay period. When I received my check today, under wages paid, I showed my regular salary amount, but my check is almost two-hundred dollars short. I see no indication of them docking this pay, but when I asked them they said that they docked me for the friday that i missed in the pay period. Is this legal?
Furthermore, they asked me to continue working from home forthem, and they haven't discussed any changes in my salary despite the fact that i am not working there daily any longer, what should I do to make sure that i am being paid farily?

That is not true for exempt employees, let alone non-exempt. Sorry, but your ex-HR Manager needs more training.
