i would like to impose fines for absences and tardiness on a less than 50 employee company. is this legal? what does texas labor law indicate about fines or in any case deductions to their salaries when an employee is absent or late.
does an employee need to file for leave if he/she wants to be absent? or they can just be absent whenever they want without informing the employer?
when i was still working in the philippines, it was legal there to impose fines to employees who are absent, late, not wearing their uniforms nor ID's. we have to file for leave when we want to be absent on a certain date, failure to do so will result in penalties and more fines. if there were any medical emergency absences they require us to hand in medical certificate and fill up forms to nullify penalties. i was wondering if i can do this here in texas? is this legal here? my employess are always absent without notice. sometimes 2 or 3 are absent in a day but this will only happen once a week. some prefer to work at home since their job can be done at home but i want their job to be done in the office so that i can monitor them.
how do i stop absences/tardiness in texas the legal way?
