Recently, an superior in my public safety organization, gathered all of the paid employees together at a set time, surrounded a group of the volunteers and berated them. The volunteers that were present described the situation as "extremely intimidating", "insulting" and "embarrassing". What rights do these volunteers and those not present at the incident (which was aimed at the entire volunteer organization) have under NJ or Federal labor laws?
