Boojagirl 03-14-2008, 09:30 AM sorry for this second post, I did'nt think it went through the first time and I don't know how to delete things on here. TM1 03-14-2008, 09:56 AM Which court? What are the charges? Boojagirl 03-14-2008, 11:07 AM Regular court, with lawyers or attorneys, the judge, where you sit next to the judge and tell what happened and get questioned. the charge is 1 count of animal cruelty TM1 03-14-2008, 11:20 AM You need to rewrite the question; it disappeared when you edited your first post. You can edit the first post and put the question back in or restate the question as a response to this post. Boojagirl 03-14-2008, 01:07 PM I asked when I go to regular court later this month for 1 count of Animal Cruelty will I go there, do the court stuff and be sentenced in 1 day or will I go there, do something, be told to come another day, do something else, be told to come yet another day, do yet something else before I am sentenced? TM1 03-14-2008, 01:50 PM You may want to post a question at this link. It seems to specifically address animal cruelty. http://www.catler.org/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=list&forum=lawstuff TM1 03-14-2008, 01:59 PM I have been doing a little research on animal cruelty in Minnesota. I would advise you to talk to an attorney before your court date. Are they charging you with a felony? Boojagirl 03-14-2008, 02:24 PM I am not sure, under charges it says Count:1 Charge: Animal Cruelty In Violation of: 343.21 Subd. 2, Subd 9 (d) for subd 9 (d) it says...anyone who intentionaly violates subdivision 1-7 and it ends in death ect, I know the courts won't care but what I did was not intentional, I mean I did'nt wake up that morning thinking "I'm gona kill my cat today", it was a stupid split second, very wrong, decision I made at that moment when I thought about him possibly harming my girls. I have 3 other cats that the cops could see are healthy and have food and water that they have not taken away. TM1 03-14-2008, 02:32 PM Do you have a lawyer or a public defender? http://www.house.leg.state.mn.us/hrd/issinfo/ssmpds.pdf Site for Minnesota public defender. Boojagirl 03-14-2008, 03:09 PM [QUOTE=TM1;960808]Do you have a lawyer or a public defender? no, I can't afford a lawyer, the court will have to choose someone. joec 03-14-2008, 03:13 PM The court will appoint one, for your sake you better hope the Judge is Michale Vick.
