hey guys im new to this so bare with me!

Well for starters my grandmother died like 1 month ago and my mom have been taking it reallly hard she started doing drugs and being broke all the time. well she has diabetes and went for a regular check up she seen some ones purse and took it. Come and behold everything was caught on camera like 4 hours later detyectives were knocking on the door i didnt let them in until i spoke to my mon she denied all of it until they came with photos she eventually got arrested she gave the the purse back and all that was taken was $42 Dollars they charged her with grand larceny and possesion of stolen property (credit card) well the D.A offered her 2 years residental drug treament and i told her if she loved me she will take it so she did . she been in there for like 2 weekss and now her lawyers are are telling her whatever time she does there dosent count my mom said people been there for 8 months waitng ...

so the question is can they do that??
and what else can she do?

She could ask the court to withdraw her plea and start all over again.

But I doubt that the court would allow it.
