View Full Version : Catastrophic Illness, Legal Definition?

Can anyone tell me if there is an accepted legal definition of the phrase "catastrophic Illness"? The phrase appears in a number of collective bargaining agreements with which I'm working, and I'm wondering if there's any reason to believe that a definition other than the common "severe illness requiring prolonged hospitalization or recovery; usually involves high costs for hospitals and doctors and medicines" would prevail.
Thanks.

You'd have to ask your union steward what it is understood to mean in the context of your CBA.
