Hello,
I have 30 years with my company. Went from an 8 hour shift to a 12 hour shift. Now my vacation time is in hours not days. I had 5 weeks vacation time. Now if I take a vacation day, it is counted as a day and a half or 12 hours. Is this fair?

Whether it is fair or not is not a legal question. To know whether it is legal, we would need to know what state you are in.

Wait. You earned vacation based upon an eight hour day and now, with you working twelve hours a day, you are complaining about being charged twelve hours for taking a full day off?

Yes I am, for 25 years, now for the past 5 YEARS I've have been FORCED, yes, FORCED to work a 12 hour day I've worked and earned vacation DAYS, why should my vacation DAYS earned be cut because my WORK DAY has been extended?

IN addition to that, I am only paid 8 hours for paid holidays off. NOT FAIR

Since there's no law requiring the employer to provide paid holidays, employers are free to set their own policies as to how they choose to do so. But, to answer your vacation question accurately, you're really going to need to tell us what state you live in. Different states have different laws on how they treat accrued vacation.
