The company I work for is changing its policy from separate vacation/sick time accounts to a combine PTO account. The issue is that only a small amount of our sick hours are being carried over and the rest we are simply losing.
I know vacation hours are treated as pay. But can a company simply eliminate accrued sick hours with no compensation?
