i currently got a restraining order against me. My girlfriend and i just signed a lease together two months ago. How should I and in what direction do I approach my landlord? I want out of the relationship but not the paprtment. we have 3 scenarios as i see them:
1. i stay, she leaves.
2. she stays, and i leave.
3. we both leave.

What are my rights as of now? Can i recur the deposit issue? am i liable for breaking the lease?

May I assume that the restraining order was taken out against you by your girlfriend?

If that is the case... your options dropped to one. You leave. Period.

Tell your landlord... but plan on having to buy out the lease early.

It might not be that simple.

I don't know about FL law, but in IN, the person requesting the restraining order is also prohibited from going to places where the person being restrained normally goes. This prevents entrapment. The restraining order also cannot prevent the person from attending any of the following:

- Church
- Work
- Court
- School/College
- Public places such as shopping malls

Who gets the apartment may depend on who is the primary lessee. If you are the primary lessee, the other person has to leave.
