My friend has found out the landlord is in forclosure for over 20 properties. She now fears she's next. His girlfriend is wanting the rent checks written out to her instead of him. He will not talk to anyone. Obviolsly he dont want the bank knowing he is getting rent checks

Can I hold on to my rent check untill he actually shows up at my door, so maybe I can save enough money to get another place to live?

Her next door neighboor is renting a property owned by him and got a summons to come to court.

WHat are renters rights? Do they have to give her a notice to move out by a certain day, or can they throw them out the same day or 3 days or what?.
