I do not quite seem to understand the 7 day rule and when is OT due. In this situation which are 2 different pay cycles, how much OT would be accrued?

Sun 6.25 hrs
Mon 7.5 hrs
Tues 8.25 hrs
Wed 8 hrs
Thurs 8.25 hrs
Fri 6.5
Sat 6.5

Total of 51.25 hrs

Sun 5hrs
Mon 7.75 hrs
Tues 8.5 hrs
Wed 9 hrs
Thurs 8 hrs
Fri 11 hrs
Sat 6 hrs

Total of 55.25 hrs

If you can send me a Private Message with your email address, I have an Excel worksheet that spells the CA OT rules out in great detail.

Since you are already over 40 hours in the first 6 days, nothing special applies to the 7th day. The 7th day rule only applies if you are under 40 hours and working on the 7th day.

However, in simpliest terms all work performed on the 7th day is to be paid at 1.5 time your normal pay. Any hours over 8 on the 7th day would be paid at 2 times your normal pay.
