California registered an order in 1990 to collect 14,000 that was paid out while my ex was on ADC. I was never ordered to pay support directly to her. The order wasn't served until 1994 in NC. The court dismissed on basis of latches & statue of limitations since the time period covered was in 1982 to 1983. Since 1994 California has tried to re register this order, most recently this year only with interest which is now a total of 45.000. Went to court a couple of days ago & the judge postponed until Jan. 31 & stated she wanted to see some case law on this issue. Any help out there with a viable defense.

I know that there are websites where you can do case law searches but I can't rememeber what they are right off hand. Hopefully, someone else will know a link to post.

If you can't find it on-line, try going to your local law library, they should have it there. Or, our law library is equipped with a computer that has a special program that allows the public to access case law for free. Maybe your local library has that available also.
