I need to know if an employee is obligated to work over 40 hours if they don't want to or are unable to?

I don't need any info about overtime wages. Only if the employer has the right to make them work over 40 hours per week.

thanks!

The employer has the right to require any employee to work over 40 hours in a week. If the employee is exempt, they don't get any additional pay. If the employee is non-exempt, they would receive overtime pay.

And can be disciplined up to and including termination if they refused the extra work.
