Is there a law in california regaurding paid holiday pay if an emloyeee works the scheduled day before and the scheduled day after the holiday that the employer must pay holiday pay , heres the thing my work week begins on a saturday , i normally dont work satudays nor does any of the others in my department , we were told we haave to work sat or displinary actions will be takin , so we worked sat off sun worked mion thure wensday had thursday off worked friday as well ( we were also told if we did not show up on friday that messures will be takin , anyway thursday was the holiday does our employer have to paaay us even streight paay for thaat holiday seeing how we worked the day before and after

There is no requirement, even in California, for a company to pay for holidays.

It is not unusual (particularly in manufacturing) for companies to set requirements for employees to be paid whatever holidays the company observes, such as working the day before and the day after the holiday.

Also, there are docking restrictions associated with Exempt Salaried employees only (29 CFR 541.602) that make it very unlikely that an Exempt Salaried employee only cannot be paid for a holiday. Other types of employees generally do not have such restrictions.
