I have been debating this with payroll department.
I worked 32 hours the first week and 48 hours the second week for a tota of 80 hours.

they said that since they paid bi-weekly and I did not go over 80 hours I don't get overtime for the extra 8 hours i worked the second week.

Am I entiltled to overtime for those 8 hours or not?.

Maybe they aren't aware of this (although it's basic wage and hour law):

However, Arizona does not have its own overtime laws, so if the employer is not subject to the FLSA (although it's pretty hard not to be), then overtime would never be required.

Does the company engage in interstate commerce? Or gross at least $500K in annual gross revenue?
