My landlord is really working my nerve. I moved in July of this year and my landlord and I discussed repairs that he agreed to fix some before I move in some after. He did nothing before I moved in. Ever since I moved in I've had to ask him when he was gonna make the repairs and replace the things discussed. He'd always tell me he was coming I'd waste my weekend waiting for him and he doesn't show. Or when he does show it's after I've waited all day for him and he confronts me when I finally decide to go out. Now I'm fed up. I've written him letter and sent him pictures ans spreadsheets about the work needing to be done. So...in September I withhold rent. I though this was gonna work because after while he came to do some work. I paid him with the understanding that he would come back the next day and finish the things he couldn't that day....he hasn't come back in a month...(because he wants money) I am now withholding Oct and Nov and told him if he completes a majority of the work which won't talk long at all I'll give him Octobers rent and he'd get Novembers when all the work is done. I called my self trying to work with him. BUT now he's trying to tell me if I don't pay I can move and that when he gets the money he'll do the work. My rent also includes a parking space in the driveway and he's gone as far as letting his family and other people park in my space knowing you need a permit to park on the street, and I don't have one. I get off work late and commute from NYC I told him that he needs to do the repairs on the weekends unless I get home at a decent time (6:00 or ^:00 ish) NOOOOOOOO.....I get home like 8pm and he calls my phone as soon as I hit the door wanting to come do work. Now he's trying to say I won't let him come do the repairs. He wants to do it when it's convenient for him so he can get a check from me. I've told him numerous times when is good and when is not. He lives downstairs from me and I've even gone as far as leaving my back door open for him to do the work while I'm at work....but he never shows when he says he going to...always on a week night knowing I said it was not a good time cause I wake up early for work. What do I do with this guy.....he's absolutely unbelievable....I guess my major concern is have I done all that I can to protect me if he takes me to court? I have even gone as far as calling the health department about a serious leak that has what I think molded the wall in my hall. I'm just not sure that a repor from the Health Inspector will be enough...PLEASE HELP ME!!!! I really don't want to be forced to move before I'm ready! Oh I forgot to mention I've been asking for a Lease since I moved and had still haven't gotten one....But I'm sure that is not shock to you by now!!!!
