I have a question, my ex-boyfriend and his son lived with me since June. All of their belongings are in my house but 2 weeks ago today they left and never came back. I have tried to contact him via phone and text messages to which he doesn't respond. I tell him to get his stuff out of my house but he again does not respond. I was going to wait 2 more weeks then toss it all in the trash. How long is it before I can get rid of this stuff? Someone told me that if he doesn't contact me for over 30 days it's all mine. Is that true?

Do you have a forwarding address for him or a last known address? If I were you I would write a letter stating your intents and have it notorized and sent to any address you may have for him. If after 30 I would consider his thing mine. Now I am not an attorney and this is just my advice, if there are some major items at stake I would consult an attorney.
