in New Jersey does a salary employee that works over 40 hours a week due comp time or some sort of pay for these hours?
This is a managers postion but I have requested more people in my dept. (who are all part time but me ATM) but they will not hire new people & I work up to 50 hours a week & sometimes over.

Salaried is only a pay method. What matters is if you are exempt or non-exempt.

If you are exempt, which is what most people mean when they say salaried, there are no circumstances whatsoever in which the law requires you to be paid a penny more than your usual salary, no matter how many hours you work. The salary of an exempt employee covers ALL hours worked, no matter how many or how few, not just 40.

For exempt employees, comp time is legal but not required by law.

There are a great many exempt employees for whom a work week of 50 hours would be like being on vacation.
