I live in indiana and my husband and i fell behind in rent due to medical reasons and job problems, we went to our landlords and they told us we had to be out by the end of the month. or thay can lock us out of our apartment we have recived eviction papers or we have not gone to cort. are they allowed to do that and what can i do we have also had a lot of problems a couple of them are we have mold and mildew growing and staining the carpet and we livied with out hot water for a month we had to go to neighbors and family to talke showers and do dishes. please help i honly have a couple of days. :confused:

No, they cannot lock you out. They must first give you a 3 day notice to quit. If you're still there, they must then file for eviction through the local courts. You will have at least 45 to 60 days to move, from the date they file.

The other problems, call your local health department.
