I was recently terminated from a bank where I worked as an Acct. Srvcs. Specialist. The reason given me is that I released confidential info on a customer to my spouse who in turn went to this customer & told them the pertinent information. I did not do this. I do balance reports that had info of this customer on it, BUT the customer & my spouse are friends & the customer gave my spouse this info himself 5-6 months ago. The customer is also good friends with the president of the bank who in turn fires me for releasing information (per the customer statement). I did not release any information. I feel I have been wrongly accused & have lost my job over it. Do I have any kind of a case?

I don't see one. Being fired for something you didn't do is not a "wrongful termination" under the law, even if the employer is wrong.

You have a case to apply for unemployment benefits, but as Patty explained, a wrongful termination does not mean that you were fired for something you didn't do; it means you were termed for a reason prohibited by law.
