I am in the process of buying a house and was wondering if MI had anything in its law about early termination fees. Thanks for any help and if possible the section number that represents this part of the law.

Marketeer 10-25-2007, 06:36 AM There's a widely held belief that you can get out of your lease if you buy a house. It's not true. Your lease is a contract that you signed wherein you agreed to pay rent for a set period of time. The terms under which you can get out of your lease are spelled out in the lease itself, so I'd suggest that you need to review your lease carefully. The landlord does an obligation to mitigate your damages, however, by working to rent the place as quickly as possible. |
