Landlord locked my place of business and says he is going to sell the contents of the shop. I am behind on my rent and will be caught up in about 3-4 weeks. The lease will be up and I will not be renewing. He gave me no notice of the lockout or an eviction. By locking me out he has made it very difficult to work and make the money I need to get him paid off. Is he allowed to lock me out? Can he sell my materials and tools?
Do I owe him for the period of the lockout?
What is the process if he is in the wrong of getting at my items?
Also a truck I had in the lot came up missing and none of the impound lots have it.
The building is a commercial place of business accessable to retail customers and all utilities except water is in my name.
Not trying to get out of the back rent I owe just want to be treated fair.
Thanks, Smokey

Him, the laws are largely silent on commercial leases. You may want to get a free consultation (if there is such a thing in regards to commercial leases) with a local commercial real estate attorney.
