Ah, nobody can come up with a good answer, huh? I didn't think so. :p

Hmmm, well, some might say because some of us in certain states (ahem, TX) consider ourselves to be our own country. :D

You know, our kids DO say the Pledge of Allegiance to the US flag AND the Pledge of Allegiance to the TX flag. (I am dead serious. There was just a huge issue (ongoing legal issues) because the powers that be inserted the words "Under God" into the Texas pledge. The same pledge that has worked just fine for years!)
