A family member was brutally beaten by some senior high school kids a week prior to graduation that caused a head trauma and lead to his death two weeks afterwards.
Now there are 4 perpetrators, 2 of them claimed that they used their hands, but the other two supposedly used a pipe to struck his head. Now the AG tried to give these two 1s degree assault, but wasn't able to because there weren't enough witnesses or the cop that was at the stand did not do a great job so the two that used their hands got 2nd degree assault through a plea agreement and they are to testify against their other two friends who supposedly use the pipe on the victim.
Today i got an email from the AG asking if we can accept a plea proposal from the defandant stating that he will plea guilty to 2nd degree murder if the government can make a recommendation of 15 years imprisonment. The mother of the victim does not accept nor agree with this offer. I know it will go to trial soon,
but why is the AG so quick to offering a lenient sentence for someone who took a life?
