What are the ground rules for job abandonment in Ca. I have an employee that called in sick on a Wednesday, he did not call back and did not return to work until the following Thursday. He was out of work for a total of 5 days without calling in. He is a non-exempt hourly employee.
Does this contstitute job abandonment?

This is not an issue addressed by law. What does your company policy say about no call/no shows?

I am in the process of investigating this. The individual is actually employed by a seperate company. I manage a division that has a couple different contractors involved.

Is there such a law concerning job abandonment in California?
