How do you apply for short term disability through the state. When I take maternity leave I will have been employed for over a year. I do not qualify for fmla because there are only 2 employees. I have looked all over the internet and cannot fine a thing.

Do you know for sure that there is a state plan?

There is no state plan in Oregon, which is why you can't find anything.

The only states with state disability plans are CA, NJ, NY RI and HI.

And even FMLA was applicable to your employer, FMLA is not paid. FMLA simply mandates that you won't lose your job while you're out BECAUSE you're out. You would only get paid for that time if you had a disability policy in place OR if you have vacation or sick time available OR if you've been saving money all along, knowing that you would soon be out of work.
