I recently gave a notice to the company I was working for. They told me not to come back that the notice was accepted immediately. The corporate office is in another state but I work in an office located in MS. Do they have to pay me for the length of my notice even though they wouldn't let me work it out?

The company is not required to pay you for time not worked.

You MIGHT be able to collect unemployment benefits for the period from your last day of employment until the time you intended to leave.
