I currently work for a private company that was bought out by a corporation based in Colorado. Since this has happened we have had trouble receiving our paychecks on time. We are set up on a pay schedule of the 1st & 15th of every monnth. They are always late. Anywhere from 4 days to 2 weeks. We used to receive checks from our ceo and they continued to bounce so now he sends wire transfers and they are still late by days sometimes weeks. We also just found out that our insurance has been canceled since January and he has continued to take out premiums from our checks. He has been in trouble with the MS State tax commission recently for not paying taxes he withheld last year from his employees paychecks. Is there any legal action we (the employees) can take and is it even worth it?

Your recourse with wage issues -- including deductions for insurance coverage that you're not able to use -- is to report them to the state department of labor wage and hour division. Unfortunately, if the company is having this many problems, it may be time for you all to look for new jobs.
