I raised my son alone from birth until he was 12, including all medical from his birth until just two years ago. I had a child support order from Ca.. My son went to live with his dad in March 2002, at this time we stopped current support and they tried to collect the $19,000.00 that he owes in arrearages, and that was only from the age of 8-12. My son's Father and him live in Texas. His father filed a custody and support petition in Feb 2004 in which I was ordered to pay $100.00 because I have 2 special needs children that make it impossible to work, this was fine, I didn't mind. I am also on state aid for medical, due to their mental disabilities. Today, I get a copy of a new order saying he was credited an abatement for the two years before he filed in the amount of $543.00 a month and now I am to pay $400.00 a month not the 100.00 a month agreed to. My monthly income is 366.00 a month. Now he owes no arreages and I don't know how he got the abatement, the abatement was not for the collection period in which he had custody.....is this legal? Also, they gave him credit for over 6000.00 for travel that we were to split 50/50 in the temp. order. Oh yeah by the way I am in Nevada and of course can't afford to go to Texas to fight this. Can Texas order me to pay medical bills when I am getting state medicaid in Nevada???

What actions have you taken about this in the last 7 months?
Also, did you just now recieve another copy of the same order, or is it a different, more recent order?

NO, I have not done anything, what can I do, I live 1500 miles away and don't have a pot to piss in because I am always at the school dealing with trying to keep my other two kids in the general population and no daycare will take them because of their emotional problems, no one can handle them. I am awaiting SSI hearings for both until them I only get 200-350 a months in child support and then I get medical and foodstamps from the state of Nevada. So pretty much, i am screwed. I can't even afford the gas to get there, let alone an attorney. I have contacted both States legal aide offices and neither can help, Nevada is not barred in Texas and I am not a resident of Texas. And I am not going to hide from the law like his Father did for 12 years. I even submitted my tax returns that state the last two years, I made 3800.00 for one and 5600.00 in the other.
