I work at ADESA Auto Auctions in Cleveland, Ohio. :( I have a few questions about overtime pay and breaks. A normal day at ADESA is supposed to be from 7am to 4pm with a 1 hour lunch break starting at 11am.
Routinely, we work from 7am - at least 6pm with a one hour lunch break starting at 12pm on Mondays - Wednesdays. On Thursdays and Fridays, our boss generously makes us work a short day so we are at our under our 40 hours per week so we do not get paid overtime. My stepdad says this is illegal..Is it?
Also, shouldn't we be entitled to another break during the day when we work 5 hours or more at a time without a break?
