My ex-attorney made a mistake on my dissomaster last year giving my ex too many deductions on interest expenses on the home - gave her the deduction for the entire payment, not just the interest...instead of $1400 he gave her $1800. My attorney sucked in many other ways which is why I had to fire him and we're in arbitration about his so called bill.
My question: is there any way to get back or be credited the overpayment amount I paid on child support because of the incorrect dissomaster?

"In an effort to standardize payments a formula was developed, and with the aid of the computer, DissoMaster was born. Now, the amount of child support, as defined by law, is based on the dollar amount entered into the DissoMaster program. The basic figures include: Dad's and Mom's income plus the amount of time each parent spends with the child. Child care costs and other expenses may also be considered.
Another important element in the formula is the amount of time each parent spends with the child(ren) For example, the more time Dad spends with the child(ren), the less he pays."
It's a computerized way to figure out the child support payments.

You can file a motion with the court to amend the judgment in the lawsuit.
However, you have to realize that you did agree to the figures, so it will be difficult to explain to a judge why you want them changed now.

The explanation would be that I never even saw the Disso until I went to the court and copied the Disso in my file (which wasn't included in my original file I obtained upon firing my attorney.) My attorney was so bad, I've had to go to the court myself to get copies of documents that were not in my file - some of which I'd never seen, like this DissoMaster that calculates the garnishements.
In addition, this Disso was not prepared with me present. That's precisely why I wanted to see it because I've found so many mistakes the attorney made and I had a hunch he screwed me over on this too. I was right.
