Hello,
Here is my situation. My fiance has been seperated from his wife for several years. We have a child together, and we have temporary custody of his daugher from Florida. The reason they are not formally divorced yet is due to financial reasons. The girl's mother is perfectly cooperative and supportive of our custody bid because she is having some legal and substance abuse problems of her own.
We also have no money for a lawyer and we are going to court June 21. The girl's mother will be unable to attend because she is on probation and the state of Florida will not let her travel.
All of the household bills are in my name, and the court has asked my fiance to account for all of his income. If he is using his income to pay bills that are in my name, will the court recognize this, or will they want proof of things that are in his name?
Also, in the event they order the mother to pay us child support, will the guidelines be for Florida or Massachusetts? (where we live)
Thank you for your help.
