Hi,

Can someone please clarify for me how one can waive their lunch period in CA. I work for a large retail Corporation and I read that a worker has the right to waive his/her meal break. Can someone give me more detail? Also does the waiver need to be in writing or verbally?

As applicable to a large retail corporation, I can only think of one situation where a meal waiver would be allowed: If an employee works no more than 6 hours in a day, he/she can voluntarily agree to waive his/her 30 minute meal period.
