What are my rights regarding my breaks and lunch?

I am scheduled from 8am to 5pm Monday thru Friday. I take one hour lunch but no breaks in between. Am I still entitled to my breaks before and after my lunch hour? Second, is it legal for the employer to decrease my hourly rate for being accused of a mistake done on a job order????

Here for meals and rest breaks:

(I'm assuming you are a nonexempt employee, because of your second question.)

Re: the hourly rate reduction, it is not legal for hours already worked. It would be legal for hours worked following the notice being given.

For cash shortage, breakage, or lose company $$ while performing a job as stated in your question, it would violate the law for making deduction from your wage without a written authorization agreed from you, unless it a dishonest and willful act.

Agreed, although it is generally legal to decrease an employee's long term wage/salary on a go forward basis as long as minimum wage or other restrictions are not violated.

But, the OP didn't say a deduction from wages; he/she said a reduction in the hourly rate of pay.
