I recently took a new job. In the interview process, I was asked to sign an agreement that if I quit within 90 days, I would have to pay my drug test, background check, and my D.O.T physical costs back. I agreed, so I signed the paper thinking I would be there. But after 3 weeks, I found a better paying job with more benefits, so I took it. I gave the company a 2 weeks notice hoping it would maybe soften them so they would not ask for the money back. Well, the day I gave my notice, I suppose they turned it right in to payroll, because last week's check was $140 short. I was upset and asked them to give me an itemized bill. They are currently working on giving me this.

The company is out of Missouri, but I work in Arkansas. By law, am I required to pay for this, since they require all these tests. Thank you in advance.

P.S. when I signed the papers, the individual costs were not itemized.

Take the paper to an attorney in Arkansas for review. We cannot determine the enforceability of a document we haven't read.

However, you have not posted anything to make me think that it WON'T be enforceable.
