I recently put my 2 week notice to terminate my employment with a company in North Carolina. The company told me to leave immediately. Do they have to pay me for my notice period?

If you are an at-will employee (everyone is unless they are under a collective bargaining agreement or other specific contract of employement) then yes, your employer may ask you to leave and no, they are under no obligation to pay out your notice.

However, you will likely qualify for unemployment for the balance of your two weeks notice.
