I want to get some opinions.....My daughter is twenty years old, in college, and living with me. Her father is no longer giving her support-he stopped payments a month before her 18th birthday. He did not pay for his portion of her medical bills (he was ordered to pay the bills he owed before per our last time in court, as well as 80 percent of any medical bills after that). He did not keep insurance on her while she was still under 18, yet, he has kept it on her consistently since her 18th birthday, but has yet to remit any payment for his (80%) portion of those bills accrued before her 18th birthday. Now,I find out that he has gotten into trouble with the IRS, due to the fact that when we (first wife- me, and third wife) took him back to court in 2003, around the same time, his financial statement (his W-2) included only a portion of his income. Apparently that finally caught up with him. I was told that he underpaid by quite a bit, and was in a great deal of trouble due to his duplicity. Interesting story, but I want to know if I have any recourse in this. Since his support payment was figured on a false financial statement, is there any way that I could have the case reviewed, so that I might be ble to recover the money for her medical bills, and possibly, the difference in the child support payment. It would be great to have some help with her college expenses. Or is this just wishful thinking?

It's most likely too late for you to do much of anything. IF you had taken it to court to enforce right after your daughter turned 18 you would've had a strong case. But to try to enforce over 2 years later will present some problems. As for the amount being wrong due to incorrect info, there's nothing you can do now, sorry.
As a side note though, even if you can get a judgement, IRS will ALWAYS get paid first, so it might take years before you'd see any money at all. My best advice, take all of your paperwork to an attorney for a consult to find out if it's going to be worth the time, energy, and expense to pursue this at all.
