Hi,

I am pregnant and bcos I am in my 3rd trimester I have a lot of discomforts (not complications) due to which I want to reduce my hours or work from home. My employer does not want to give me an option to work from home so I plan to reduce my hours. How can do that w/o affecting my current pay? What are the legal options I have? I am not eligible for FMLA. My manager has agreed for reduction of hours but I am not sure if they will reduce my pay. I still need to discuss that with HR.

What are the options in this situation ? Please help.

I don't quite understand why you think you should be receiving full pay for less than full time work.

But, are you exempt or non-exempt?

Your options may be to work full hrs. for full pay or work reduced hrs. for reduced pay. However, as cbg asked, are you an exempt or non-exempt employee?

I am exempt.

Basically I want to reduce my hours (whether paid or unpaid) but since I do not have any preg complications just normal preg discomforts, my doc is not giving me a note. Can I still reduce my hours or request for an option to work from home once or twice a week?

That's between you and your employer. You may ask; without a medical recommendation they are not obligated to agree.
