I work for a auto dealership in ohio. im not technically a mechanic but I work as an hourly employee mostly just changing oil. every 3rd sat. i have to work 8am - 12 pm making that week a 44 hr week. i noticed that they are some how avoiding paying me overtime by writing out my checks as a flat rate mechanic by adjusting my hours as they wish to 40 hrs. is this legal? by law do they owe me money? by law do i HAVE to work these OT hours if im not properly paid for it? if by chance i do have to work these hours, how can i get them to pay me whats rightfully mine?

Are you paid an hourly rate or flat rate per job based on book time?
