I have a question, hopefully someone can answer.. I have a non-compete with my work. For 1 year after I leave, I have to work 10 miles away from the place. However the building burnt down this week. I would think at this point I can move on. But the boss said we are still under contract and she is working on another location. Lastly, I work on commission and I can risk losing my clients if I am not working soon. What is my legal standpoint? In my contract there is nothing saying about IF this should happen..

A building is nothing.

The company still exists? Then the non-compete does, too. How enforceable it is I cannot tell. Get legal counsel that can review the document.

Your comment about "your" clients is exactly why companies have non-compete agreements.
