Hi.. I hope that someone can answer this question for me...Iam being Penalized for 6 weeks.. I won't go in to the details.. of my situation.. Iam just to upset... I was disqualified due to Misconduct.. not Gross Misconduct...anyway.. Has anyone been Penalized before for 6 weeks? If so was it cut and dry getting the rest of your Benefits? I was let go from my job on 3/4 with no warning...and now its the 31st..I just got my Denial letter..and can Reassert my claim on 4-17... so I have been going crazy for the pass few weeks not knowing where I stand..Iam out 1000's right now..and can not afford to wait any longer for the end result. Iam in need of knowing if Iam definitely going to get my benefits after being penalized for 6 weeks... HELP!

also, If I appeal the decision that was made.. does that hold me from reasserting my claim on 4-17?

Why are you waiting for benefits, instead of searching for another job?

If you won't tell us what happened, we can't possibly tell you what to expect. No one here can guarantee that you will get benefits since we aren't the ones to make that decision but we can maybe give you a good idea what to expect. First though, you have to share the circumstances.

There's no possible way we can tell you for 100% sure what's going to happen in six weeks. We don't know what you did to be disqualified; we don't have a crystal ball to say what will happen in future.

Thanks for the responses....I Have Been Looking for a Job.. for the past 4 weeks.

Anyway.. my situation is as follows.. back in June of 06 I was released from a company that I was with for 6 years..they went bankrupt. I immediately found another job.. I worked at the new job for 8 months.. and I liked alot...I got along well with everyone. I was never late, never called out..and I was never verbally warned nor was given any written notices about anything.

On March 3, I went to work like I normally would..and the owner handed me a letter of Termination..with all kinds of Grievances in it about the way I conducted myself ... which she did not witness herself.. everything in the letter was hear say.. most of it was bull... so unemployment contacted her and she told them I was released for misconduct. We had a phone interview..and the claims examiner found that I was released for Misconduct.
I can appeal it ..which I plan on doing..anyway. Iam being penalized for 6 weeks...from my benefits ...

My main question here is.. HAS ANYONE EVER BEEN PENALIZED FOR 6 WEEKS IN THE STATE OF NJ ? AND IF SO WHAT WAS THE PROCESS?

I would also like to add that Iam 36 years old and a single mother of one child who is 15.. I live paycheck to paycheck.. so this is why Iam crying for help...I know that nobody here has Crystal ball..Iam just looking for some answers... Thank You.

You said,

Iam in need of knowing if Iam definitely going to get my benefits after being penalized for 6 weeks (words yours; emphasis mine)

We can give you opinions. If anyone happens by here who was penalized benefits for six week, they can tell you what happened in their case. But no one's opinion, nor what happened in anyone else's case, will tell you what is going to happen definitely in your case. All you can do is reapply when you were told you can and see what happens.

Thanks.. I get what your saying..:o
I hope that someone passes through who can just help me understand what happens after the denial and what happened when they reasserted their claim.
