When I work overtime (only 3 hours over 40) do I need to adjust taxes taken out more than usual? I just took the gross wages (normal + overtime) and withheld normally and 7.65% for FICA & Medicare. Is that correct?

I am responsible for the books and I'm still learning! Thanks!

ETA: Links or resources for research are welcome. I don't want to seem like I'm looking for an "easy answer". I am trying to figure this out asap but I don't wish to be rude to those smarter! I appreciate any advice while I'm learning.

You did it absolutely correctly. If you're new at payroll, here's where you need to start for federal withholding:
http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p15.pdf

If you want to PM me, I can give you another site to which I also contribute, which is much more geared toward payroll and the people who do payroll.

Thank you! I have read that booklet and will check the chart again to withhold the correct amount from the wages+overtime check.
